President Mahama joins Muslims at Black Star Square for Eid al-Fitr prayers

President John Dramani Mahama joined thousands of Muslims at the Black Star Square to observe Eid al-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The gathering brought together Islamic clerics, community leaders, government officials, and worshippers from across Ghana in a show of unity, reflection, and gratitude after a month of fasting and spiritual devotion.

In his remarks, President Mahama extended warm wishes to the Muslim community and commended them for their discipline, sacrifice, and prayers for national peace and development.

He emphasized the importance of religious tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence, urging Ghanaians to uphold these values beyond the festive period.

The President also used the occasion to call for continued national cohesion, stressing that Ghana’s progress depends on collective responsibility and mutual respect among its diverse religious and cultural groups.

Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Black Star Square have become a significant annual event, drawing large crowds and symbolizing the country’s strong tradition of religious harmony.

The celebration ended with prayers for peace, prosperity, and stability for Ghana and the global community.
