Police restore calm after violent clash at Akyem Oda

KIBI, 6 May 2026 – The Eastern South Regional Police Command has restored calm at Akyem Oda New Station following a violent clash involving a group of young men armed with cutlasses.

Police said the incident came to their attention through a viral video showing the group attacking each other. Officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.

Two suspects were later found receiving treatment at separate hospitals. George Okyere, 30, was found at the Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut on his forehead and a chopped-off right finger, while Paul Pascalele was receiving treatment at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital for a deep cut on his right hand.

Police also arrested suspect Evans Adayele at his hideout to assist investigations.

The Command said efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects involved in the incident for further investigations and prosecution.
