The Upper West Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing of a 62-year-old private security guard whose body was discovered in a shallow grave at Kpaguri, a suburb of Wa.
According to the police, the deceased was reported missing by his family on Saturday, prompting the formation of a search team to locate him.

The search led to the discovery of his body buried in a shallow grave near an uncompleted building close to the premises where he had been providing security services.
The Public Relations Officer of the Upper West Regional Police Command, Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng, said residents alerted the police after discovering the grave.
“Residents reported that they had found a shallow grave close to where the deceased used to guard. Police officers, together with Environmental Health Officers, visited the scene and conveyed the body to the Upper West Regional Hospital,” he said.
Inspector Boateng explained that the body was deposited at the hospital mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination before being released to the family for burial.
He assured the public that the police were committed to identifying and arresting those responsible for the killing.
“The police in the Upper West Region will do everything possible to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. The modus operandi used by these criminals is worrying, and we urge members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by providing information that will help curb the menace,” he added.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
