Moses Kwaku Tawiah later appeared at the site, claiming the vehicle belonged to his brother. He was arrested after revealing that he was overseeing a second truck, a Hyundai Gold (registration GS 3368-17), parked at Nkroful, Block Factory near Sekondi, which was also found loaded with similar bales.

Each bale reportedly contained around 80 compressed slabs of the suspected substance.

Further developments occurred on 23 February 2026 at 2:00 a.m., when suspects Kwame Kontor and Kwabena Forson attempted to bribe officers with GH¢69,000 to secure the release of the trucks.

The police confiscated the cash and arrested both individuals for further investigation.

The seized trucks and the cash have been retained as evidence, while all three suspects remain in police custody assisting with the investigation.

The Western Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities and urged the public to continue providing credible information to support law enforcement efforts.
