Police arrest two men at Akwatia after four live BB cartridges found in vehicle

Police in the Eastern Region have arrested two men after discovering four live BB cartridges in their vehicle at Akwatia.

The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Enoch Asiedu and 58-year-old Lu Youyan, were intercepted on board a Toyota Hilus pick-up at the Boadua Livingstone Junction Snap Check point. A police statement issued on Saturday said the cartridges were retrieved during a search of the vehicle.

During interrogation, Asiedu claimed the ammunition belonged to his boss, identified only as Mohammed, who also owns the vehicle. “The police are making efforts to trace the said Mohammed for questioning,” the statement noted.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with investigations.
