Prosecutor Chief Inspector Daniel Danku told the court that while the Ghana Fire Service and Madina Police Command officers were tackling the blaze at Redco Flats, a misunderstanding arose between Danlad and a group of people. Though tempers calmed, the accused allegedly left the scene, returned with a gun, and, without provocation, opened fire, causing panic as residents fled.
Six people were hit by pellets and rushed to the hospital, with some treated and discharged, while others were referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Danlad fled after the shooting but was arrested on September 12, 2025, at Madina Redco. In his caution statement, he admitted to the offence.
