Bono Police arrest 54 suspects in separate swoop operations

The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested fifty-four suspects in a series of targeted operations aimed at cracking down on illegal drug peddlers, users, and criminal hideouts across the region.

The exercise, carried out by the Regional PID team and other personnel, focused on dismantling criminal activities in Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa.

Among those apprehended are Rev. Alex Kwaku Manu, aged 36, Adams Moro, 32, Kwaku Kyere, 40, and Ata Opare, 20.

The list also includes Anyane Emmanuel, 45, Appiah Shadrach, 29, Philip Quarcoe, 28, Francis Asamoah, 27, and Ahmed Farouk, 22. Other suspects range in age from 17 to 44, including Aisha Fuseini, 17, Emmanuel Yeboah @ Kooyi, 18, and Bismark Korang, 19, reflecting a broad demographic involved in these criminal activities.

During the operations, the police recovered several substances and items, including quantities of tramadol, six pairs of scissors, a green tricycle “pragya,” wrappers of dried leaves and seeds suspected to be Indian hemp, a small crusher, two boxes of matches, and one box of cigarettes. All items have been retained for evidential purposes.

The suspects have been arraigned before the court and remanded in police custody for further investigation.

The Bono Regional Police Command reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring a crime-free festival season and warned that anyone involved in criminal activities would face the full rigours of the law.
