Cape Coast – September 8, 2023 – The Church of Pentecost Women's Ministry in Cape Coast has extended a helping hand to the Paediatric Unit of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH) by donating an array of essential items valued at GH¢15,000.
The generous donation included various items such as milk, bottled and sachet water, biscuits, confectionery, beverages, bread, sanitary pads, detergent, soap, and diapers.
The aim of this philanthropic gesture was to provide support to sick children and reflect the love of God, particularly from a maternal perspective.
Mrs. Margaret Serwaa Antwi, the Area Head of the Cape Coast Women's Ministry, explained that the donation was motivated by a desire to assist sick children, aligning with God's directive to care for the sick and the needy.
She emphasized the empathy of mothers who understand the challenges faced when their children are unwell, underscoring the Christian duty to aid the sick.
“This is what compelled us to help the hospital, the children, and mothers who may be struggling to provide the basic necessities for their sick child,” Mrs. Serwaa Antwi stated.

Madame Paulina Adomako, Deputy Director of Nursing Services at CCTH, received the donated items on behalf of the hospital and expressed profound gratitude to the Women's Ministry for their support.
She recognized the substantial value of the items, which would significantly alleviate the hospital's expenses.
Madame Adomako took the opportunity to call on other organizations to follow the Women's Ministry's example and provide assistance to the hospital, either in monetary contributions or through similar acts of kindness.
She revealed that some children in the Paediatric Ward, despite being discharged, remained at the hospital due to financial constraints, highlighting the urgent need for additional support.
