Mr Kweku Asmah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Automation Ghana Group (TAGG), has issued a warning to consumers against purchasing counterfeit and substandard goods that flood the market.
He emphasized the importance of buying products solely from authorized distributors and reliable sources to avoid falling victim to fake products and subpar quality.
During an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, Mr Asmah made this appeal on the occasion of the launch of the strategic partnership between Process and Plant Automation (PPA) Limited, a subsidiary of TAGG, and Siemens.
This partnership positions PPA as a Solution Partner within the global Approved Partner Programme, making it the first accredited partner for Siemens in Ghana, marking a significant milestone for both entities.
Mr Asmah, who also serves as the CEO of PPA Ltd, stated, “The problem today is that fake products find their way into the market, and it is up to our customers to be able to identify them. We advise our customers to purchase from reputable sources because, one way or another, these counterfeit products find their way into the market.”
He further explained, “When buying a high-quality product, ensure that you purchase it from the right source because it comes with a warranty, excellent service, and guaranteed after-sales support. However, if you buy a fake product, it will obviously lack the necessary support.”
Regarding the partnership, Mr Asmah expressed its significance and emphasized their 20-year presence in the business, seeing the collaboration as an important step to support their customers in the country.
He stated, “Siemens is a well-known brand, synonymous with quality, and providing excellent support and customer service is a priority for us.”
Mr Asmah believed that partnering with Siemens would greatly contribute to achieving their objectives of supporting their customers and implementing Siemens' solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
He highlighted that PPA is the largest electrical engineering and automation company in Ghana, employing over 160 professionals. Over the past two decades, PPA Ltd has successfully delivered various electrical engineering and automation solutions to both local and multinational clients.
As an ISO-certified company, PPA prioritizes providing exceptional customer support to its clients.
Mr Asmah expressed his pride in being accredited as a Siemens Solution Partner, acknowledging Siemens as a globally renowned brand recognized for its quality and reliability.
Together with Siemens, PPA aims to address and support local and multinational industries and projects by delivering top-notch electrical engineering and automation solutions while providing impeccable customer service.
Mr Asmah stated, “Together, we will tackle and support local and multinational industries and projects with the best electrical engineering and automation solutions while providing impeccable customer service.”
