The Head of the Local Government Service, Dr Nana Ato Arthur, has announced that the Service recruited about 10,000 staff over the past four years to strengthen operations across various departments.
Speaking at a media interaction in Accra, Dr Arthur said the Service had also enhanced its performance management system, invested in staff capacity development, improved working tools, and begun construction of a new office complex.

He said the media engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Service and the media while promoting national development.
Looking ahead, Dr Arthur disclosed plans to improve inter-service collaboration, introduce a health and wellness programme, and establish an award scheme to recognise outstanding staff performance.
He also urged journalists to uphold professionalism and avoid unverified reporting, while reaffirming the Service’s commitment to improving local governance and public administration across the country.
