Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area in the Savannah Region and Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening agribusiness and economic development in northern Ghana.
The meeting, held on Monday, 26 January 2026, centred on strategic programmes including the Savanna Farmers Brigade, an initiative intended to empower farmers and create sustainable employment opportunities for young people along the agricultural value chain.

Discussions also covered the Northern Ghana–Kanu Trade Partner Development Project, which seeks to enhance agribusiness growth, improve market access and strengthen trade linkages for producers across the northern regions. The initiative is expected to support value addition and expand agribusiness activities.
In his capacity as Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, Buipewura Jinapor II briefed the Minister on an emerging platform for traditional rulers aimed at supporting government development initiatives. A central element of the platform is facilitating access to litigation-free lands to attract investment, promote agro-industrial development and support infrastructure delivery.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed government’s commitment to deepen collaboration with traditional authorities to unlock investment opportunities, particularly in northern Ghana. She emphasised the role of traditional leaders in the country’s development agenda and highlighted the importance of partnerships that promote agribusiness, value addition and inclusive economic growth.
The engagement underscored the shared commitment of government and traditional leadership to leveraging agriculture and trade as key drivers of national development.
