Tragedy struck in Bortianor, located in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, as one person was shot dead by unidentified assailants.
The victim, identified as Kpakpo Allotey, was not only a resident of Bortianor but also the head of the Kwame Anu family in the area.
In a horrifying incident, Allotey was forcefully taken from his bedroom in the early hours of the morning by the attackers, who later shot him dead a short distance away from his house.
The deceased, who leaves behind eight children, suffered machete wounds as the assailants forcibly entered his room through windows and the front door.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the attackers said to number around 18, dragged Allotey to a nearby location before shooting him multiple times, resulting in his untimely demise.
Expressing their grief and demanding justice, the family of the deceased urges the state security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, apprehend the perpetrators who are currently at large, and ensure they face the full force of the law.
Narrating the harrowing incident, one eyewitness, who is a relative of the deceased, revealed, “He is my uncle, and we always travel together. We were in the palace at dawn when we spotted some children distributing firearms and machetes. My uncle was assassinated later in the day. I arrived to see his body in a pool of blood, surrounded by guns and machetes. We want justice. My uncle was handled as if he was nobody.”
