The Minister of , Mr. Mustapha Ussif, has highlighted the significance of the Borteyman Sports Complex as a key component of ‘s national sporting developmental agenda. Speaking at the official opening of the complex by President Nana Addo Dankwa , Mr. Ussif emphasized that the facility will play a crucial role in unearthing and nurturing sporting talent in the country.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the contractors and consultants for their outstanding work in completing the Borteyman edifice. He noted that the complex, equipped to host various sporting including handball, table tennis, swimming, badminton, volleyball, and tennis, represents a milestone achievement in Ghana’s sports infrastructure.

Reflecting on the challenges faced in the lead-up to the completion of the complex, Mr. Ussif credited the resilience and commitment of in overcoming obstacles. He underscored the importance of the upcoming as a catalyst for national development and sports growth.

Mr. Mustapha Ussif emphasized that state-of-the-art sporting facilities not only promote athlete excellence but also contribute to overall infrastructure development in the country. Looking beyond the African Games, he revealed plans to utilize the Borteyman facility as a Center of Excellence for discovering sports talent and hosting international competitions.

Furthermore, the Sports Minister disclosed intentions to transform the complex into the University of Sports for Development, aimed at bolstering Ghana’s socio-economic prowess. He outlined notable features of the Borteyman Sports Complex, including an administrative block, a 1000-seater Olympic-size swimming pool, a 10-lane competition pool, and an eight-lane warm ball.

Additionally, the complex boasts a 1000-seat sports hall capable of accommodating various sporting events such as badminton, basketball, netball, and handball, along with a 1000-seater tennis court, among other facilities.
