Bono Regional Police arrest 20-year-old man for unlawful possession of firearm and narcotics

The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Collins Kyeremeh, for unlawful possession of firearms and narcotics at Odomase in the Sunyani West Municipality.

A statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Administration, said the suspect was arrested based on police intelligence and is currently in custody, assisting with investigations.

During a search of his residence, police discovered quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp hidden in a bag concealed in the ceiling of his bathroom.

The statement, made available to the Regional Police in Sunyani, said the suspect later led police to an uncompleted building near his home, where a Makarov pistol and four rounds of 7.62x17mm ammunition were retrieved.
