Dr. , the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (), outlined his vision for Ghana's future while highlighting the country's ongoing economic recovery in a recent address to the nation on February 7, 2024,

Acknowledging the challenging economic landscape faced by the NPP upon assuming leadership, Dr Bawumia emphasized the party's success in revitalizing the nation despite the difficulties encountered between 2019 and 2022, primarily due to the pandemic.

Dr. Bawumia compared the current economic status to that of the Mahama administration, noting that despite the absence of a pandemic during its tenure, the economic performance under the NPP surpasses that of the previous administration.

Highlighting key economic indicators such as GDP growth, agricultural and industrial growth, trade balance, exchange rate depreciation, lending rates, gross international reserves, and job creation, Dr. Bawumia underscored the positive trajectory of Ghana's economy.

Despite the global economic crisis triggered by COVID-19 and the - war, Dr Bawumia emphasized that Ghana's GDP growth remained resilient, averaging 4.9% between 2017 and 2022, compared to 3.9% during the 2013-2016 period.

Dr. Bawumia's address reflects the NPP's commitment to steering Ghana towards continued economic growth and prosperity, positioning the party as a capable steward of the nation's development.
