The High Court in Accra has issued a verdict ordering former Ghana international and Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, to pay GHȼ25,000 per month towards the welfare and upkeep of his three children with his ex-wife, Gifty.
The court also ruled that Gyan must provide compensation to his former wife, Gifty, which includes a house he owns in the United Kingdom, as well as another four-bedroom house in Ghana, a gas station, and several cars.
This legal resolution, announced on Tuesday, October 31, comes after a protracted divorce suit that has spanned three years.
The divorce proceedings were initiated due to Gyan's denial of paternity regarding the children, but the court's ruling has now confirmed Gyan as the biological father of Gifty's three children.
It is important to note that the GHȼ25,000 monthly payment for the children's welfare and upkeep does not cover expenses related to their education, medical and dental care, or aircraft tickets for travel, among other costs associated with their upbringing.
