AngloGold Ashanti‘s Obuasi Mine has successfully rehabilitated a previously deteriorating section of the Obuasi-Dunkwa road, contributing to local infrastructure development.
The project, spanning 1.4 kilometres, is a part of the company's 10-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (SEDP) and aims to enhance critical infrastructure in the area.
The mining firm invested GHC990,000.00 to address the road's poor condition and the safety risks it posed to motorists and pedestrians.

He stated, “This milestone underscores AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine's commitment to its 10-year Socio-Economic Development Plan which prioritizes improving community infrastructure to bridge gaps, address critical needs and drive positive change for the communities in which it operates.”
Mr. Elijah Adansi Bonnah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), praised the initiative for positively impacting traffic flow and local transportation of goods and services.
He acknowledged the ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts of AngloGold Ashanti and encouraged continued support for the company's contributions to the local economy.
