Akufo-Addo sacks 24 District Chief Executives

In a communication dated February 2, 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa has revoked the appointments of several District Chief Executives (DCEs) across various districts and municipalities in Ghana.

The revocation, by Article 243(3)(b) of the Constitution and Section 20(3)(b) of the Local Government Act, 2014 (Act 936), affects the following individuals:

The President has directed the relevant authorities to give immediate effect to this directive and will nominate replacements in due course.

The letter was addressed to the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Botwe, with copies sent to the Vice President and the Chief of Staff.
