The Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council, Torgbui Dorglo Anumah VI, has welcomed the intention of some religious leaders to sanitise the Christian environment of fake pastors within the Akatsi South Municipality of the Region.

He expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Ministers towards achieving a peaceful environment for the needed developmental progress of the Municipality.

Togbui Dorgloh Anumah made this known in a meeting, following an invitation from the leadership of Akatsi Senior Ministers Association to discuss some planned activities of the Association.

He urged members of the association to consult the appropriate legal institutions for assistance in discharging their duties.

Togbui Dorgloh also said that chiefs had equal roles and responsibilities to stand against acts of misconduct in society in the same manner as expected from religious leaders.

“As chiefs, we must work hand in hand with religious leaders in promoting peaceful environments, and this call is in the positive direction,” he said.

At the encounter Apostle RDK Dovor, Chairman of the association, said the association would champion the need for junior pastors and all religious leaders operating in the area to do what is right and just before God.

Apostle Dovor said their doors were opened for collaboration with the Akatsi Local Council of Churches “so we can all rise against the actions of these self-styled fake pastors.”

Mr Martin Kofitsey Nyahe, the Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South who attended the meeting, assured members of the Association of his full support towards safeguarding the spiritual aspect and living conditions of the populace.

The Akatsi Senior Ministers Association is a new group set up to deal with the alarming reports of fraud and unethical misconduct perpetrated by some pastors.

There have been reports of some unknown pastors visiting the area with acts of sexually molesting unsuspecting and sometimes gullible members of their churches whilst others defraud their members.

Some members of the Association told news reporters that they were worried about the trend.

Some chiefs and queen mothers from Avenor attended the event.
