Norvienyo Association, a female group based in Akatsi, has made a generous donation to orphans and children requiring special attention in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The group, known as ‘Norvass,' carries out philanthropic initiatives annually, and this year, they presented undisclosed cash, cooking oil, toiletries, and various consumables to the Three Kings Special Unit for the Blind in Mafi Awakpedome and the Good Samaritan Home for the Mentally Challenged in Mafi-Adidome.
Mrs Gladys Seshime-Adotevi, the leader of the group, highlighted their commitment to providing love and care to underprivileged Ghanaian children and supporting critical areas in need of attention and assistance.
She explained that their decision to celebrate the annual Mothers' Day by extending a helping hand to these children was a reflection of their dedication to their cause.
Mr Victor Bobinson, the headteacher of the Three Kings Special School, expressed gratitude for the donation during the presentation at Awakpedome.
He shared that the school, which currently has a student population of over 30, has produced numerous teachers and professionals working in various sectors across the country.
Mr Bobinson also revealed that the school accommodates pupils, some of whom are partially or completely blind.
Reverend Father Gilbert Edigdo, representing the Director of the Good Samaritan Home for the Mentally Challenged, expressed appreciation for the love shown by the donors.
He emphasized that these children have rights and deserve the utmost attention because it is the will of the Lord that they are in their current circumstances.
Reverend Edigdo also appealed for additional support in terms of infrastructure to create a more comfortable environment for the children.
The atmosphere was filled with joy as the group joined the children in engaging in fun activities, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.
