Medeama Sporting Club has secured the top position in the betPawa Ghana Premier League standings following a resounding victory over Hearts of Oak during the weekend's match. The Tarkwa-based team displayed their dominance by defeating the Phobians with a remarkable 5-1 score at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 31.

This triumph propelled Medeama above Aduana Football Club, allowing them to claim the coveted top spot. Aduana's hopes for a third league title were dealt a significant blow as they suffered a disappointing 0-3 loss to Accra Lions on Saturday, May 20.

Following their defeat, Aduana remained on 52 points, the same as Medeama before Sunday's game. Medeama capitalized on Aduana's stumble, seizing the opportunity to surge to the summit of the league standings.

In other league action, Abednego Tetteh shone for Bibiani GoldStars, scoring a brace in their commanding 2-0 victory over Tamale City.

Here are the results from the remaining league fixtures:

  • Dreams FC 2-0 Berekum Chelsea
  • Karela 0-0 Great Olympics
  • King Faisal 0-2 Samartex
  • Nsoatreman 1-0 RTU
  • Bechem United 1-0 Legon Cities

The match between Kotoku Royals and Asante Kotoko is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 22.

Medeama's outstanding performance has cemented their position as the team to beat in the betPawa Ghana Premier League.
