
Hon. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo is the Member of Parliament for Wa Central, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Born on May 5, 1964, he hails from Wa and is a practising Muslim. He has been a longstanding legislator, having served in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Parliaments of Ghana.
Hon. Pelpuo holds a PhD (2013) and a Master of Arts (1998) from the University of Ghana, as well as a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma from the University of Cape Coast (1994). His early education was at Wa Middle Day and Wa Secondary School, where he obtained his MSLC (1976), O Level (1983), and A Level (1986) certificates.
Before his tenure in Parliament, he built a career in youth development and policy consulting. He served as a Consultant at the Institute of Policy Alternatives and held various leadership roles at the National Youth Council, including Deputy National Coordinator, Director of Issa Youth Institute, and Acting Regional Coordinator.
