
Hon. Abdul-Khaliq Mohammed Sherif is the Member of Parliament for Nanton, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Born on April 30, 1984, he hails from Nanton and is a practising Muslim. He is serving his first term in Parliament.
A highly trained medical professional, Hon. Sherif is a Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists at the College of Medicine of South Africa (2024). He holds a Bachelor of Human Biology (BSc) (2009) and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) (2013), both from the University for Development Studies. Additionally, he obtained a qualification in Health Administration and Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (2016). He completed his secondary education at Prempeh College in 2004 and earned his Basic Education Certificate from Tamale International School in 2000.
Before entering politics, Hon. Sherif built a distinguished career in the medical field. He served as a Senior Medical Officer and later as a Medical Superintendent with the Ministry of Health/Ghana Health Service.
