
Hon. Abdul Kabiru Tiah Mahama is the Member of Parliament for Walewale, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He hails from Janga and was born on September 1, 1988. He is a practising Muslim and is serving his first term in Parliament.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Hiroshima University (2018), a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University for Development Studies (2014), and a Bachelor of Arts from the same institution (2010). Additionally, he has a Bachelor’s degree from Mountcrest University College (2024), a Chartered Economist certification from the American Academy of Financial Management (2015), and a certificate from Hiroshima University (2018). He completed his secondary education at Nalerigu Secondary School in 2005.
Before entering Parliament, Hon. Mahama held key positions in economic policy and governance. He served as the Director of Economic Analysis and Technical Economic Advisor in the Government of Ghana. He was also a researcher at Hiroshima University and worked as a Program Education and Advocacy Officer at NORSAAC.
