Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie mourns former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady of Ghana, who passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2025.

In a statement issued in Accra on Friday, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie said the entire Judiciary and the Judicial Service of Ghana extend their deepest sympathies to the family and children of the late former First Lady.

He described Nana Konadu as a woman of remarkable vision, courage, and conviction, noting that throughout her public life, she championed the causes of women and children and worked tirelessly to promote gender equality and social justice.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie highlighted her impactful role through the 31st December Women’s Movement, which he said stood as a lasting testament to her dedication to women’s and children’s empowerment and national development.

“While her passing marks the end of an era, her influence will continue to resonate in the hearts of countless Ghanaians whose lives she touched through her service, compassion, and leadership,” he said.

He added that the Judiciary joins the family of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, their children, and all Ghanaians in mourning her loss, praying that God grants comfort to the bereaved family and eternal rest to her gentle soul.

The late Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, widow of former President Jerry John Rawlings, passed away on October 24, 2025.
