President Mahama appoints 18 new deputy ambassadors, names ex-CDS General Oppong-Peprah as Deputy High Commissioner to Canada

President John Dramani Mahama has announced the appointment of 18 new deputy ambassadors, including General Thomas Oppong-Peprah (rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff, who has been named Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner to Canada.

The appointments were communicated in a letter from Dr Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, addressed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The newly appointed deputy ambassadors include Dr Palmer Appiah-Gyan for Germany, Madam Francisca Patoah Gyarko for Switzerland, Mr Ben Dotsei Malor for the United States, Dr Harry Zevon for China, Mr Sulemana Ibun Iddrissu for India, and Mr Aquinas Quansah for the United Kingdom.

Others on the list are Mr George Harrison for South Korea, Madam Jamilatu Amadu for the United Arab Emirates, Mr Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo for the Netherlands, Madam Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku for Italy, Mr Francis Thalamus Doe for Japan, and Mr Sanni Jajah for Saudi Arabia.

The rest include Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor for Türkiye, Mr Emmanuel Kamban Panyan for Russia, Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah for South Africa, Mr Mohammed Ibn Abass for Egypt, and Reverend Dr Isaac Clive Mould for Denmark.

The appointments are part of President Mahama’s efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic presence and enhance bilateral relations across key global missions.
