Otto Addo warns Black Stars against complacency ahead of C.A.R World Cup qualifier

Meknes, Oct. 8. Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has cautioned his players against complacency, describing it as a “big danger” ahead of Ghana’s crucial penultimate World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (C.A.R.).

Ghana currently sit top of Group I with 19 points and could secure qualification for next year’s global tournament with a win, provided Madagascar drops points against Comoros.

The senior national team are currently in Meknes, Morocco, fine-tuning preparations for Wednesday’s encounter.

The Black Stars are unbeaten in their last six qualifiers, including last month’s 1-0 victory over Mali.

“We were very happy with the result against Mali, and we are taking this positive feeling into the C.A.R. game,” Addo said.

“It is always like that. Everybody knows what this game is about, and I hope we take this positive vibe into the game.”

The coach emphasised the importance of focus and discipline, recalling lessons from previous away matches.

“Everything is in our hands, but I hope that we learned the lesson from the last away game against Chad. It is important that we stay focused and not think we have already won because that is a big danger,” he cautioned.

The match against the Central African Republic is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco.
