Beijing, Sept. 13, GNA – China has successfully livestreamed ultra-high-definition video from a bullet train travelling at 350 kilometres per hour, marking a world-first in technology innovation.
The feat was unveiled by the China Media Group through a state-of-the-art livestreaming studio on the high-speed railway line connecting Beijing and Zhangjiakou, co-host city of the Winter Olympics.

Ma Xin, Senior Engineer at the All-Media Business Centre of Huafeng Meteorological Media Group, disclosed the achievement to 30 African senior media managers attending a 14-day training seminar on 5G media usage scenarios and key technologies in Beijing.
He said the breakthrough demonstrated China’s leadership in cutting-edge technology and highlighted the transformative role of 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and buffering in enabling stable and high-quality live broadcasts.
“Production managers must begin to consider 5G backpacks with higher speed and stronger signals for livestreaming to achieve maximum stability,” Ma Xin advised, adding that China offers a wide range of such technologies that could help retool Africa’s mainstream media.
The seminar, themed “Seminar for Senior Management of Mainstream Media in Countries along the Belt and Road Initiative”, was sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and organised by China Broadcasting International, Economic and Technical Cooperation Co. Limited.
The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013, is China’s global infrastructure strategy designed to strengthen connectivity, trade, and cooperation with more than 150 countries and international organisations.
Participants will also be trained on integrated media operations, short video creation strategies in sports, virtual storytelling in the era of AI, and media marketing, alongside field visits to leading Chinese technology institutions.
