Ghana Police to begin full implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH from October 1

The Ghana Police Service will begin the full implementation of TRAFFITECH-GH from October 1, 2026.

The system will use cameras and PDA devices to detect traffic offences, with electronic violation notices sent to vehicle owners or drivers via SMS.

The implementation is expected to improve road discipline, strengthen the enforcement of traffic laws and help reduce road crashes and casualties.

The initiative has been described as a step towards using technology to make Ghana’s roads safer.
