The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has cautioned directors and senior officials in the health sector against changing approved postings, warning that doing so could affect their positions as directors.
He made the statement during an engagement with Bishops of the Catholic Church in Ghana, where he emphasised discipline, fairness and adherence to administrative procedures.

The Minister said government is prioritising underserved regions and districts in the deployment of health workers to ensure equitable access to healthcare.
He also highlighted key government interventions, including the Free Primary Healthcare Initiative, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCare), aimed at improving access to quality healthcare.
On the Agenda 111 hospital projects, Mr. Akandoh acknowledged challenges including funding constraints and delays, noting that many of the facilities remain incomplete.
He said government is focusing on completing 35 priority projects to make them operational and beneficial to Ghanaians.
The Minister invited faith-based organisations, including the Catholic Church, to partner with government to complete some of the facilities on a non-profit basis, with government providing health professionals and other support.
Mr. Akandoh acknowledged the Catholic Church’s contribution to healthcare delivery and reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration.
The President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, commended the Minister’s efforts and called for stronger collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Catholic health institutions.
The engagement formed part of ongoing stakeholder consultations aimed at strengthening partnerships and improving healthcare delivery nationwide.
