He stated that efforts are underway to facilitate the reintegration of the evacuees, including the provision of medical and psychosocial support.

The Minister also disclosed that the government intends to seek compensation for affected Ghanaians who left behind their businesses and property as a result of the attacks.

In addition, he said measures are being taken to secure employment opportunities for returnees who can work.

Hon. Ablakwa commended staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana’s High Commission in Pretoria, partner state institutions, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), Ethiopian Airlines and the media for their roles in the evacuation exercise.

He also expressed appreciation to Ghanaian business leaders who have partnered with the government to create employment opportunities for the returning nationals.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
