No arrestsFire destroys 32 rooms at Accra Central Police Barracks Annex made over Accra Central Police Barracks fire-Police

The Accra Regional Police Command has clarified that no arrests have been made in connection with the fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks.

In an update issued on June 4, 2026, the Command said earlier reports suggesting that arrests had been effected were inaccurate, adding that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The Police further disclosed that a fire officer who sustained injuries during efforts to contain the blaze is receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is in stable condition.

According to the Command, no fatalities have been recorded, while the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

The Police acknowledged the efforts of the Ghana National Fire Service and all officers involved in managing the situation and ensuring safety at the scene.

The Command said further updates would be communicated as investigations progress.
