The Parliament of Ghana will host the 4th African Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Family and Sovereignty from June 3 to 6, 2026, at the Accra Ridge Church.

Held under the theme “Consolidating Parliamentary Consensus: Advancing the African Charter on Family Values and Sovereignty,” the conference will focus on African cultural identity, family resilience, food sovereignty, data governance, technological transformation and youth development.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour.

According to Parliament, plenary sessions will examine the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on family systems, child protection and social cohesion, with discussions expected on ethical frameworks, data privacy and digital governance.

Delegates will also discuss food security, agricultural sovereignty, preservation of African cultural values and indigenous knowledge systems, as well as strategies for strengthening family institutions and promoting values-based education.

The conference is also expected to provide a platform for African legislators to deepen collaboration on governance, public policy and continental integration.

Parliament said further details on participation, speakers and conference activities will be announced later.
