The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect for alleged offensive conduct and threats against President John Dramani Mahama in videos circulated on social media.
According to the Police, the suspect, identified as Mahama Aminat, also known as Akosua Serwaa Minat, was captured in TikTok videos allegedly making insulting remarks about the President, threatening his life and inciting others to harm both the President and his wife.

The Police said a joint operation involving the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) and the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department led to the suspect’s arrest on May 20, 2026, at Sekyere Zongo in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region.
Authorities stated that investigations commenced following the circulation of the videos on May 19, 2026.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be put before the court.
