In a speech delivered on his behalf by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako, the Speaker urged staff to remain professional, disciplined and committed to strengthening the institution of Parliament amid rapid transformation.

He also encouraged staff to use the celebration as a period of reflection on their career paths and personal growth within the Parliamentary Service.

According to the Speaker, great institutions are recognised by the quality, character and commitment of their workforce rather than their physical structures.

Clerk to Parliament Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, whose speech was read on his behalf by Deputy Clerk in charge of Legislative Management Services, Mr Camillo Pwamang, said empowering people requires visionary leadership capable of nurturing talent, promoting innovation and creating growth opportunities.

He called for renewed collective commitment towards institutional development.

Chairperson of the Human Resource Sub-Committee of the Parliamentary Service Board, Angela Oforiwaa Olorwu-Tay, Deputy Clerk for Corporate and Financial Management Services, Dr Gloria Akua Sarku-Kumawu, and Majority Chief Whip Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor also commended the Human Resource Department for organising the programme.

They stressed that institutions rise or decline based largely on how well their people are empowered and noted that the Human Resource Department plays a key role in building and sustaining a professional workforce to advance Parliament’s constitutional mandate.
