The Ghana National Gas Company has denied allegations of impropriety in its recent procurement activities, stating that all processes were lawful and duly approved.
In a statement issued on April 13, 2026, the company said concerns raised in media reports stem from a change in its lead insurer following the expiration of previous insurance contracts at the end of the year.

Management clarified that the new insurance arrangements form part of an enhanced risk management strategy to protect the company’s assets.
The company further stated that all contracts awarded have received the required approvals from the Public Procurement Authority after commitment authorisations from the Ministry of Finance.
Ghana Gas reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, corporate governance, and compliance, noting that it will continue to review and strengthen internal processes.
The company added that it remains focused on delivering gas efficiently to meet the country’s energy needs.
