The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a case of unlawful entry and stealing at Spintex in Accra.

The victim reported that GHS 1,000 and USD 22,350, together with several personal valuables, had been stolen from the residence.

Acting on intelligence, police officers later arrested the suspect, Daniel Odai Afotey, at Labone Beach on March 11, 2026. A search conducted in his room led to the recovery of the stolen money and several other suspected stolen items.

The items retrieved by police include gold watches, jewellery, mobile phones and a television set, believed to have been taken from different victims.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to committing the offence and identified an accomplice known only as “Ewonam.” The accomplice is currently on the run, and police say efforts are underway to locate and arrest the individual.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned before court on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Meanwhile, the police have indicated that investigations are ongoing to identify the rightful owners of the additional items recovered during the operation.

Members of the public who may have lost property under similar circumstances in Spintex, Teshie, Nungua, and surrounding communities have been urged to contact the CID Headquarters to assist with identification.
