The Parliament of Ghana has issued comprehensive guidelines for media coverage of the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) scheduled for Friday, February 27, 2026.

To ensure order and security, Parliament has outlined strict accreditation procedures.

Journalists who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Corps but wish to cover the event must submit applications to the Director of the Media Relations Department no later than Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Access will be denied to any media personnel without proper accreditation.

Accredited journalists are required to display their identification badges prominently throughout the event and must operate strictly within the areas designated on their accreditation passes.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker’s Lobby has been declared out of bounds for photography, interviews, and other media engagements.

Parliament also indicated that a clean broadcast feed will be provided for rebroadcast. Media houses are encouraged to rely on this feed where possible to prevent overcrowding at the public gallery.

All interviews and live broadcasts are to be conducted at the Foyer on the ground floor of the Chamber Block at Parliament House.

Media personnel and their equipment will be subject to security screening. Space allocation at the foyer will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, the public gallery has been reserved for invited guests, with the press directed to limit activities to the press gallery.

Parliament emphasized that strict adherence to these guidelines forms part of broader security arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful event.

For further information, media representatives have been advised to contact the Director of Media Relations.
