Community members reportedly became alarmed after noticing unusual behaviour and alerted the police, leading to the woman’s arrest.

Security sources indicate that the child involved has been rescued and is currently safe.

The suspect is in police custody assisting with investigations to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether she acted alone or as part of a larger network.

Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities, especially those involving children.

They also cautioned against mob justice, stressing the importance of allowing law enforcement agencies to conduct thorough investigations.

The incident has heightened concerns about child safety in parts of Kumasi, with residents calling for increased community awareness and stronger preventive measures.

Authorities say the suspect will be put before court once investigations are concluded.
