After a rather tumultuous year, characterized by great economic upheavals and political pressure, particularly for the President and his administration, the advent of the New Year, the President says, promises to be a good one.
In a short message to Ghanaians, he said, “Happy New Year. Wishing you, my Fellow Ghanaians, a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
2023 promises to be a good one for our country.”
Meanwhile, Ghanaians have been urged through the 2023 Budget to gird up their loins for drastic austerity measures and sacrifices to support the country's economic recovery.
The commencement of the New Year automatically activates the 2.5% VAT rate hike as contained in the 2023 Budget and a total freeze on public sector employment.
