Libianca, the talented Cameroonian singer/songwriter, has emerged as the winner of the Viewer's Choice: Best New International Act category at the 2023 BET Awards.
She triumphed over tough competition from renowned artists such as Ghana's Camidoh, Asake from Nigeria, Flo from the UK, Maureen from France, MC Ryan SP from Brazil, Pabi Cooper from South Africa, Raye from the UK, and Werenoi from France.
Before the main event, Camidoh captivated the audience with an electrifying performance at the Pre-Awards Welcome party held at the prestigious Grammy Museum.
As one of the nominees for Viewer's Choice: Best New International Act, Camidoh remained hopeful of securing the coveted award. He expressed his belief in his chances and acknowledged that being nominated placed all artists on an equal playing field.
Although Camidoh didn't win the award, he enjoyed his time at the event and had the opportunity to connect with influential figures in Hollywood.
His manager, George Britton, previously emphasized the significance of such a nomination, highlighting that it not only celebrates the artist's achievements but also shines a spotlight on Ghana's vibrant music scene.
The BET Awards showcased strong representation from West Africa, with Nigerian singer Davido delivering an electrifying performance at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
His medley of hit songs from his latest album, ‘Timeless,' including ‘Feel' and ‘Unavailable,' had the audience bouncing and streaming.
This marked Davido as the second Nigerian artist to perform at “Culture's Biggest Night,” following Fireboy DML's performance last year with his hit song ‘Peru.'
