MP advocates for equity in resources allocation for Adaklu Senior High Schools

Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Member of for Adaklu, has called on the government to address the disparity in resource allocation for Senior High Schools () in the Adaklu district. He expressed concern over the lack of functional buses and pickups at Adaklu Waya and Gbekor Senior High Schools, highlighting the challenges faced by both and students in these institutions.

During the commissioning of a newly constructed kitchen at Gbekor , Mr. Agbodza emphasized the need for equitable distribution of resources, pointing out that schools with existing buses were receiving additional support while those without were being neglected. He underscored the importance of addressing the infrastructure deficiencies in Adaklu SHS, including the absence of ' bungalows.

Mr. Agbodza reiterated the government's obligation to ensure fair access to resources for all schools, urging an end to discrimination in resource allocation. While acknowledging the kitchen as a temporary measure, he emphasized the government's promise to upgrade the school to a boarding institution, stressing the importance of comprehensive facilities for boarding schools.

The MP commended Togbe Edem for his contribution to improving access to the school and pledged to continue investing in education to enhance the skills and competitiveness of students in the area. He also vowed to enhance incentives for teachers through initiatives such as the best teacher award.

Mr. Sylvanus Plaha, Adaklu District Coordinating Director, urged the school authorities to maintain the newly constructed kitchen to prolong its lifespan. Mr. Mac-Peter Dunatonu, the District Director of Education, lauded the MP's efforts in addressing the needs of both SHSs and basic schools in the district.

Mr. Segbe Habel Agbee, Headmaster of Gbekor SHS, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the new kitchen would improve the school's capacity. Senior Prefect Ebenezer Soglo highlighted the challenges faced by the school, including the lack of potable water and sporting facilities, urging Mr. Agbodza to address these issues.

In response, Mr. Agbodza outlined plans to address the water problem through ongoing water projects and reiterated his commitment to supporting the school in addressing its needs comprehensively.
